Packing Plunder

Chapter 31

I have enjoyed Genesis. I finished the book a while back, I just got behind on the blogs.  In 31, Jacob is at the height of his trickery. He tries to take his wives, children and livestock and sneak away from Laban. I think the biggest part of being a trickster is that we begin to buy the lie. I mean did he really think it was going to work? He was sneaking with four wives, at least 11 children and almost everything that Laban had owned.  God had given it to Jacob. But it was kinda like trying to sneak off with a Wal-Mart.

Laban discovers the plot, chases and catches Jacob. I guess we all get to a point where we have to face the things we have done.

Father, thank you for the hedge of protection you place around us because we are your own.  And like Jacob, you bless us with our enemies plunder. Praise you.
