Looks Deceive

Chapter 14

It looked like Lot had got the best of everything, but he soon found he was in the middle of someone else’s mess. Because of his choice of land, Lot and his family and fortune were taken away by raiders. When all seemed lost, Abram came to rescue Lot. (Ain’t that like God to send the person you just bested to save your sorry behind.)

After Lot was saved, God sent a message through Melchizedek, a king and priest from Salem, to bless Abram.   If Abram had been feeling bad about himself, he had to be amazed when a king showed up speaking blessings over him. Melchizedek, a priest and king of Salem, spoke blessing of the God Most High over Abram. As a result, Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of everything. Abram knew that the Lord had made him successful and Melchizedek confirmed it with his actions.

Thank you, Lord for reminding me what a blessing it is to pour back into you and those who feed me your word. Helping me understand that everything that looks shiny and good, is not. Remind me to look for you in all situations.
