God’s Hiding Place

I really like listening to Rickie Rush of IBOC on the radio. He is a blessing.

This morning  he introduced the concept of God protecting His own by hiding them in places.  It spoke to me because it explains a lot  about my life. God protects me from dangers I never know about, but also the one’s I see coming toward me.

Rush used the example of Elijah in the Kerith Ravine.  He said God was allowing Elijah to get rest and rebuild his strength. Yet Elijah was in a place where Ahab and Jezebel would not look for him.  God used ravens, which was a symbol of death, to revitalize Elijah.  No one would look for a living person in a place that is symbolized by death.

So what things have God surrounded you with that are out of the ordinary? Do you look around and think, “I do not belong here.”?

Perhaps this is God’s hiding place for you until He is ready to use you for His work.  Satan is constantly looking to destroy us and our testimony, but God knows where He can hide us to keep us safe.  Like Elijah, He will continue to supply your needs (1 Kings 17) until the time He is ready for you to work.

If God has you in a hiding place: Relax. Listen and Love Him.
