Let It Go

Last night I was flipping and ran across Joel Osteen. I like Joel Osteen. He reminds me of Happy Jesus.  Now, I understand that Jesus isn’t always happy, but I like it when He is.

Osteen said we need to let go of our disappointments and allow God to do the driving in our lives. Granted, God will lead us into some places, where we might wake up from surgery with a tube coming out our nose, but we have to trust Him with the steering wheel of our lives.

Osteen reminded us that windshield is much bigger than the review mirrors. We need to focus on where God is leading us and our future, and stop spending so much time on the things in our review mirrors or from our pasts.

My favorite part: we need to create a file inside our heads titled I Don’t Know Why This Happened.  When things happen in our lives that we don’t understand, we need to file those things there and move on.  Instead of spending our time on why God allowed this to happen to me, we need to let go and move on.

We serve a God whose ways cannot be explained easily. And if your god’s way can be explained easily, I challenge you to reach for a bigger God.

Osteen said that if some of us would let things go, we would come into breakthroughs sooner.  Our breakthroughs are in reach, we just have to let go of the things of the past so that we can embrace our future. Some of us have been holding on to things for years. Now is the time for us to move on from them.

One of the things I can thoroughly agree with Osteen on is that God wants you to have a full abundant life. (John 10:10)

Let’s file those things and move forward. As Osteen said, when God puts a period, don’t go back and put a question mark. Let it go.

Stop looking in the review mirror, and look where you going.
