Impacting the World

Yesterday was Mandela Day, July 18. “Mandela Day is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that each individual has the power to transform the world, the ability to make an impact.”  I like the way they put it when they say the Nelson Mandela fought for justice for 67 years, you can do it for 67 minutes.

I remember when Nelson Mandela was still in jail, and I was first introduced to an idea called apartheid. I remember being at a Broadway show with one of my sisters.  During the last song in the show the audience would join the cast in “Free Nelson Mandela!” I will not forget that.

Art has made a big impact on our society. Praise God for it.

I don’t know what your impact will be on this planet, but I want you to do something. Last night in bible study, Beth Moore touched on this issue.  She said “Our passion will be birthed from our pain.” So if you are not quite sure what your passion is, look at what is causing you pain. It will probably be a good indicator of where you ought to go.

Peeps, don’t let the important get in the way of the things you need to do. Beth also said “Do your thang, and do it well.”
