Psalms

Sometimes when you need to pray are you at a loss for words?  Start at the Psalms.

(I know, I was back in 1 Kings, but this is the reason I can’t sit through too many motion pictures in the theatre. I like to fast forward past all the stuff that doesn’t interest me and get to the good part.)

David is in anguish. He is pressed on all sides by his enemies and He calls out to the Lord.

David has a good sense of who God is: One enthroned in heaven laughs at them (his enemies), the Lord scoffs at them, serve the Lord with fear (Psalm 2). David realized that even though he was oppressed, the One in heaven in control of all of this has everything under his feet. Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (v12)

Do you need to take refuge in God? He is here.
